I've been shooting with a Canon EOS 30D for quite a few years now. Seven? Eight? Wiki says it was introduced in Q1 2005 and ended after Q2 2006, so at least seven years. I've taken tens of thousands of pictures, shot two weddings, and learned a lot about photography and myself along the way.
Unfortunately, it seems that camera has given up the ghost. It's only displaying a CF ERR message when I turn it on, and a closer examination makes it look like it's got a bent pin. It's probably repairable by someone who knows what they're doing, but I am not inclined to spend the money to do it.
I have a small selection of lenses and accessories that are Canon-specific, but not that much. If/when I buy a new camera, I'd be OK with swapping to Nikon if there was a good reason. I've always had good luck with Canon, though.
So, shutterbugs... what are you shooting and why?

I use a Nikon D3100. It's lightweight and easy to use. Ken Rockwell calls it the best camera for everything. http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/recommended-cameras.htm
And you can find them for a reasonable price.
60d, and quite happy indeed.
My last Canon (EOS) is still in the house, with Princess, and is still going strong at least 30K clicks later.
Stick with the Cannon. All my photo instructors told me that Nikon's are great for stuidos, but if you're going out int the field they preferred Cannons.
I do like Nikon, I just think Cannon is much more durable.
Pentax K1000 because I still like film.
I'm old school so no help here...
Pentax. My K110D just died irrepairably (parts are no longer availible) so I purchased a K5, should be here Saturday!
The Axe: my dad has a film Pentax thats over 35yrs old now. Its a sweet camera, one of these days I'm going to steal it cause he never uses it any more...
Found a bent pin on a camera I bought through ebay.
Straightened it up using a narrow screwdriver and pushed the card in very gently.
Works fine but I don't take the card out now, just download using the usb cable.
