Meh

Am I the only one out there who feels like going to the range is often more trouble than it's worth?

*sigh*

My range being right outside my back door makes it not much trouble, thankfully.

Robert, if it was right outside the door, that'd be perfect. Go out, shoot a few magazines, and call it a day.

But loading up all the necessary kit (after tracking down where the *#$!ing stapler has gone to YET AGAIN), loading it in the truck, finding backers, targets, casing guns, ammo...

It's a pain in the ass for what invariably turns into a 30-45 minute time at the range, mostly spent cursing the wind that's blowing over my target stands.

anyone want to buy some guns? cheap? *mutter*

I’ve got a couple private places I can shoot pistols but for rifles I usually go to a public range. That’s why I don’t shoot my rifles nearly as much as I want. There are the problems that you mentioned but my main “issue” with public places is the public. I’ve lost count of the times I’ve seen some idiot doing something stupid at the range.

Treat your Range Bag like it was a Bug Out Bag. When, you come back home, restock it/repack it and have it ready to go. That way, if you get a spur of the moment call from a Buddy to do some shooting, you just gotta take care of the Firearms.

Les, that'd be easy if I only had a couple calibers to choose from. Keeping a box or two each of twelve different calibers in one bag is ... heavy.

Yep it is but it is SO WORTH IT when you actually get there
